Apple Picking

I can think of no better way to usher in the fall, than spending an afternoon with the kids and a good friend picking apples at an orchard. And the fact that we got a burst of cold weather for our little excursion only made the experience all the sweeter.

The rest of these pics can be credited to my talented friend, Josie Fish. It's the best thing ever to have one of my good Bay Area friends out here in Colorado. I have known 3 of her 4 kids since the day they were born.

Cute little Macy is exactly one month older than Kai and his oldest friend. The two of them have been having playdates since Kai was a couple of weeks old.

I think every parent worries that their first child is bound to be the over-photographed one. I used to feel that way, but these days I find myself doing an inventory of my Instagram account and blog posts to make sure that Kai is getting some love.

As it turns out, Ari is constantly underfoot. And he's still at an age where he neither poses for, nor avoids the camera when I pull it out. Making him the perfect subject when the mood to take a few pictures strikes me. Kai, on the other hand, either over poses or does the passive aggressive, "I refuse to look at the camera" routine.

So I'm sorry if it sometimes seems like an Ari overload on here. I really don't have a favorite child.... most days.

But he is edible, isn't he?
